Bungie, the creator of the famed HALO franchise has lifted the curtain on its latest gaming endeavor named Destiny, on February 17, 2013. With the new release, the company has finally taken a step away from HALO and is concentrating on another project. According to reports, Destiny will be a science fiction adventure, which concentrates on social gaming as well.

Bungie has decided to call Destiny a ‘shared-world shooter’, which is set to be launched on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 as well. Users will be able to play the game in single player and multi-player modes. There are options for a co-operative player mode as well, but the game will need an online connection for the most part.

Harold Ryan, who is the president of Bungie said that the company was looking forward to the release for Destiny for quite a while now. He said that the game will attract people due to the element of mystery associated with it. Ryan went on to say that most people will enjoy the game as it involves social interaction in an online universe filled with other players.

Although not much is known about the new game, it is understood that Destiny will be based around humans trying to reclaim the solar system from aliens. These humans live beneath a giant sphere called the Traveler, which has protected them in the past.
