US-based video game and entertainment software retailer GameStop will be hosting pre-launch events for Sony’s PlayStation 4 at its stores on November 10, 2013, which will offer additional credit on current-gen console trade-ins. The one-day event – which is scheduled to be held at every GameStop store in the country – will provide customers with triple bonus credit on hardware that they trade in towards their pre-ordered PlayStation 4.
Additionally, the retailer’s stores will be offering refreshments to customers, as well as ‘giveaway items’ and will be hosting a number of different activities, while certain locations will even feature working PlayStation 4 demo units which customers will be able to use before the next-gen console’s official launch on November 15, 2013.
When it comes to the highly-anticipated launch night – November 14, 2013 – the company says that ‘all eligible GameStop stores’ will be open during the evening, leading up to the launch of PS4, which will happen at midnight. Japanese tech giant Sony has confirmed that its latest console will be released on November 15, 2013 in the United States and on November 29, 2013 in Europe and Australia.
The company also announced that it is planning to live stream the PlayStation 4 launch event in New York. The upcoming event is scheduled to be broadcast live via the PlayStation Blog, Spike TV and Ustream.
