Independently owned video game developer 5th Cell is getting ready to release its latest game, ‘Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure’. The upcoming DC superhero-themed puzzle game will have thousands of characters, but most importantly, will feature Superman in multiple variations and incarnations across the DC universe. The US release date has been set to September 24, 2013.

Scribblenauts Unmasked features Man of Steel

In the game, players will guide main character Maxwell and his sister Lilly through a series of various DC locations, such as Gotham City, Metropolis and Atlantis and each level will have procedurally-generated guests. Maxwell will have to use his magic notebook in order to solve problems and stop villains’ evil schemes, which will help boost the player’s reputation and further advance the narrative. Players will also be able to create their own characters and assign them different powers, as well as write into existence more than 2,000 DC objects.

As the US release date is revealed, Wii U and 3DS owners in Europe will have to wait for their chance to play ‘Scribblenauts Unmasked’. The European Wii U game launch experienced a last-minute delay back in February 2013 and Nintendo pushed it back, without announcing a new release date.

At the time, the company released a statement which read, “It has come to light that some changes need to be implemented within the game before we launch them across Europe. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to make further announcements on the European launch of these games very soon.”
