Japanese video game developer and publisher Capcom – the studio behind multi-million-selling franchises, including Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry and Street Fighter – has confirmed that the Ultimate Edition HD release of the highly popular Resident Evil 4 is set to become available for PC digital download via Steam starting from February 28, 2014 in Europe.
In accordance with the latest announcement, the game is now already available on Steam for pre-order. It has been reported that the upcoming Steam edition of the massively successful survival horror game will come with Steam achievements, Steam Trading Cards, Steam Cloud, as well as other goodies which will be exclusive to Steam.
Up until today, Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 is one of the most popular and best-received games ever. Metacritic – the aggregate game ranking site – gave Resident Evil 4 96 out of 100, which is practically unheard of and what is even more impressive is the fact that this score has been given at initial release. As the upcoming, highly anticipated Ultimate Edition will be getting all new game play and graphics update, it is very likely that it will become one of the best PC games ever.
In addition to announcing the game’s release and pre-order, the studio decided to surprise the fans of Resident Evil 4 with a promotional video, as well as a number of screenshots available online.
