Director of ‘Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’ Ashraf Ismail has revealed that a French global video game publisher and developer Ubisoft has a rough idea for the franchise’s ending. Speaking to the press, Ismail confirmed that the highly-successful ‘Assassin’s Creed’ franchise does have an end.
He went on to explain that, among many development teams within the studio, there is a brand team that “sits on top and is filled with writers and designers concerned with the series’ overall arc. So there is an overall arc, and each iteration has its place inside this.” Ismail said that the end exists, but nothing has been set in stone and there is plenty of room for changes.
Yves Guillemot – Ubisoft CEO – announced back in June 2013 that the studio currently has three ‘Assassin’s Creed’ games in development and that the franchise would take on an annual release strategy. With this in mind, as a game is being shipped each year, Ismail stated that, depending on what fans want or depending on the setting, they have given themselves space to fit more in that arc, but the ending does exist.
Ubisoft detailed the exclusive content of ‘Assassin’s Creed 4 PlayStation’ in July 2013 and the latest game in the series, ‘Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’ is scheduled to be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 29, 2013 in the US, on October 31, 2013 in Australia and on November 1, 2013 in the UK.
