Temple Run 2, the sequel to the popular game Temple Run is out in the market for Android users. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, much to the delight of fans who were longing to play the new game on their Android-based hand-held devices.

Keith Shephard, co-founder of Imangi said that the response to the game was positive and that the company wanted to grow the franchise over the coming months. Within four days of its launch on iOS, there have already been 20 million downloads for the new game and fans have played it over 200 million times. The original game, developed by Imangi Studios, was an instant hit with 170 million downloads across the App Store, Google Play and Amazon Marketplace.

Imangi tied up with Disney in 2012 and brought local characters into the original game to make it more popular. The game was built for iOS and Android users. In the game, users were in control of Merida, the protagonist and could help her by running, jumping, turning and shooting.

Temple Run 2 has been beefed up with new graphics, environs, challenges and more exiting features. The plot has not deviated from the first installation of the game, where the user is a thief and a monkey chases him through the temple and the cliffs. Features like rope swinging have been incorporated in the new version to make Temple Run 2 more exiting and colorful.
