Canada and the United States will soon get to see a white Sony PlayStation on January 27, 2013. The Classic White PlayStation 3 bundle will be available for USD 299, including a DualShock 3 controller, 500 GB hard drive, a subscription to PlayStation Plus for a year and the latest PS3.
John Koller, who is the vice president of Sony’s Platforms Marketing division said that they were excited to be bringing a white PS3 to gamers in North America, along with a range of games that they will be able to instantly download and play. The new PS3 could brighten up the room by matching an entertainment centre or simply stand out in front of other gaming consoles.
There are 12 games that will be part of the new Classic White PS3 bundle, these include titles such as inFAMOUS 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, LittleBigPlanet 2 and many others. The bundle also includes 1 GB of storage on the cloud and game demos and betas. The new pack will be available at Best Buy, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, Amazon.com and Game Stop, among other retail outlets.
The fact that by November, 2012, PlayStation 3 sales had racked up 70 million cumulative sales since its release has not had too much of a positive effect on the company, which is struggling with a drop in earnings, an executive reshuffle and a PlayStation hack as well.
