Since 2006, the bug-eyed bunnies have been featured in a couple of titles of their own, in addition to having a children’s TV series titled Rabbids Invasion. Jean-Julien Baronnet, the Ubisoft Motion Pictures executive director said in a statement, “Sony Pictures has tremendous experience developing hybrid live-action-and-animated blockbusters for audiences around the world, which makes them a natural fit for what we want to achieve with a Rabbids film.”

Baronnet went on to say that the latest deal deepens the developer’s partnership with Sony Pictures and also puts an emphasis on Ubisoft’s holistic approach to bringing the company’s brands to new audiences, while still being able to maintain the creative integrity of the brand.

It has been reported that Ubisoft Motion Pictures will be entirely involved in Sony’s production of the upcoming, yet-to-be-titled movie. In addition to that, the internal group is also teaming up with New Regency for the upcoming movies which will be based on the Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell series.
